Vase and Candle Holder Maintenance
Lanterns essentially require no maintenance – just wipe off dust or dirt.
Vases require a bit more attention:
- For winter, it is necessary to pour out the water from the plastic insert;
- Cover the tops of granite or bronze vases to prevent freezing.
Polymer concrete vases usually have side cuts for water drainage, so it is enough to remove the plastic insert.
By following these simple rules, the vase or lantern will last long and remain aesthetic.
Hand engraving of monument letters
Hand engraving of monument letters is one of the most durable and artistic ways to inscribe text on a monument. An experienced craftsman can engrave letters up to 10 mm deep with special tools, or even deeper if desired. This method is meticulous and time-consuming, but it ensures exceptional clarity, depth, and a solid appearance of the inscriptions. Hand-engraved letters on monuments remain vivid and legible for many years.
Sandblasting letters for monuments
Sandblasting letters is a method where text is formed on the monument’s surface using a sand stream. The sand stream, directed through a special nozzle, engraves the letters to the required depth according to the applied stencil. “Žybartuva” sandblasting equipment can engrave up to 10 mm deep! This method of engraving letters on a monument is fast, precise, and provides excellent results at an affordable price. Sandblasted letters are suitable for monuments of various shapes and sizes, ensuring a neat and aesthetic appearance.
Bronze and metal letters
Bronze letters for monuments are a popular and highly durable solution. “Žybartuva” uses products from the Italian “Caggiati” company, a European leader in bronze monument inscriptions. “Caggiati” bronze does not change color, deform, and is resistant to environmental effects. The finished letters are installed by drilling small holes and gluing the products.

Frequently Asked Questions
How Long Does it Take to Produce and Install a Monument?
Production typically takes from about 2 weeks to 2–3 months, while more complex projects with many elements may take longer (up to about 6 months). Installation duration depends on weather conditions and the season—practically, it is indicated that work can range from about 10 days to 8–10 weeks, with the best time for installation being from late spring to late autumn. During peak periods (especially before All Saints’ Day), timelines may extend.
What is the Required Deposit and What are the Payment Methods?
The order is initiated upon receiving a 30% deposit. You can pay in cash, by bank card, or by transfer. You can find the details for the transfer here.
Where Can I Order Monuments?
What is Important to Know before Ordering a Monument?
The most important factors are the dimensions and boundaries of the grave site, cemetery rules, the desired stone color/texture, inscription texts (names, surnames, dates), and the desired grave site finish. You can provide photos or examples of designs you like. It is useful to have a preliminary budget and timeline in mind—this allows us to offer the most suitable solution and production plan.
Do You Manufacture and Can You Restore Monuments in Historical Cemeteries?
What Type of Stone Do You Use and how to Choose the Color/Texture?
We recommend granite – it is resistant to frost, wear, and easy to maintain. However, it is important to choose granite suitable for the climate (differences in porosity, iron content, risk of staining) and the appropriate surface finish (e.g., less slippery roughened for horizontal surfaces). We make the decision together, showing examples. kapudengimas.lttylikalva.lt
Can an Existing Monument be Updated, or Inscriptions Changed or Added?
Yes, we restore and clean monuments, renew gilding/painting, and additionally engrave names/dates. We assess the current condition, prepare a solution, and agree on a timeline.
Can a Portrait, Ornament, or Gold Leaf Inscriptions be Added Later?
Yes, it is possible. We offer engraved portraits, symbols, reliefs, and 24-carat gilding—we advise on what will best suit the chosen stone and local conditions.
How to Maintain a Granite Monument to Keep it Looking Beautiful for a Long Time?
Use gentle, stone-specific products and a soft cloth/sponge; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners, especially on polished surfaces. We recommend periodically washing off dust, checking the condition of inscriptions, and ensuring that water does not accumulate on horizontal surfaces.
How much Does a Monument Cost and What Affects the Price?
The price is determined by the type and thickness of the stone, design and processing complexity, the extent of inscriptions/ornaments, foundation type, installation, and logistics. Standard/catalog solutions are generally cheaper and faster to produce, while custom ones are more expensive but allow for precise implementation of the idea. We provide an exact estimate after measurements and agreements. Services
Can I Order Remotely (from another City or Abroad)?
Yes. We provide consultations by phone and video call, accept drawings/photos by email, coordinate materials and inscriptions, and confirm originals upon arrival or through an authorized person.
What Warranty is Provided?
We offer up to a 25-year warranty on granite products for the material (exact conditions are defined in the contract). The warranty does not cover incorrect maintenance, third-party damage, and installation work or force majeure—all clearly discussed at the time of order.
