In the center of Vilnius, the space of A. Jakšto Street Square is adorned with the sculpture “Connection,” created in 2005 by sculptor Marijonas Šlektavičius and architect Algimantas Nasvytis. The square breathes a balance between tranquility and symbolism, with carefully considered granite accents forming a visual link between the artwork and the functional urban space.

The sculpture and bench structures utilize the distinctive Swedish Rubin Red granite, renowned for its rich reddish-brown color, grainy texture, and subtle warmth. The polished Rubin Red surface naturally reflects light, highlighting the granite’s pattern and imparting solidity and elegance to the entire square area. This granite is one of the most durable material solutions for public spaces—resistant to environmental effects, long-lasting, and aesthetically pleasing.

“Žybartuva” supplied and prepared all granite products. Technical project specifications:

  • Granite used for the sculpture (height – 3.00 m) and the legs (frames) of the bench structures – Rubin Red (Sweden);
  • Surface treatment – polished.
